Veteran Care Service
We understand how important it is to make sure that our Veterans have access to the care & benefits they’ve earned.
ARIS at home is proud to offer HHA & homemaker services to Veterans in our area. We are currently contracted to provide personal care and extra assistance through the Office of Community Care at your local VA Medical Center.
The VA has several programs that can reimburse veterans for home care services as well as hospice & palliative care services based on certain qualification criteria. Make sure you contact your local VA Medical Center to find out about these programs.
The Aid and Attendance Program
An important benefit offered by Veterans Affairs (VA) to veterans, veteran spouses or surviving spouses is the Aid and Attendance program. Aid and Attendance is for applicants who need financial help for in-home care, to pay for an assisted living facility or a nursing home. It is a non-service connected disability benefit, meaning the disability does not have to be a result of service and is paid in addition to a veteran’s basic pension.
To qualify for the Aid and Attendance program, an applicant must:
• Be eligible for a VA pension
• Meet service requirements
• Meet certain disability requirements
• Meet income and asset limitations
To learn more about applying to these benefits, go to https://www.benefits.va.gov/benefits/ or call 1-800-827-1000.
